David Ribeiro was born on September 26, 1984. His passion for the Portuguese guitar began at an early age, inspired by his father, Luís Ribeiro. At the age of 9, David started learning the instrument, guided by his father's influence.
At 20, David began his professional career, performing in the fado houses of Alfama, one of Lisbon’s most iconic neighborhoods. Over time, he expanded his performances to various fado venues across the city.
Seeking to refine his musical skills, David enrolled in the Conservatory, where he studied for five years. This formal training allowed him to grow as a musician and approach his craft with greater depth.
After completing his studies, David started collaborating with well-known fado singers, performing in concerts across Portugal and Europe. These experiences gave him the opportunity to play in renowned venues and share the traditional sound of the Portuguese guitar with diverse audiences.
David Ribeiro’s journey reflects his dedication to the music and culture of fado, shaped by years of practice, study, and live performance.
