Christian Clauwers is a Belgian documentary photographer, explorer, public speaker, and author. His mission is to explore, document, inspire, and increase awareness to save our oceans and polar regions and their communities.
After obtaining a master's degree in Political Science at the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and Global Management at the Antwerp Management School, Christian worked as a Communications Manager in the Flemish Parliament. After this, he decided to fully devote his life to inspire audiences by capturing unspoilt nature, oceans and polar regions.
Christian has witnessed climate change on the frontline for more than ten years and documented its impact on the most unique and fragile ecosystems. His starting point is the vulnerable relationship and conflicts between man and nature. He bridges science and policy with the power of these images.
With international lectures and conferences (such as COP25, COP26 and COP27), Christian inspires and shares his work with leaders, youth, NGO’s, businessmen and game-changers, with the aim of increasing awareness.
He works together with governments, scientific institutions and companies. His work is kept in the Artic World Archive on Svalbard. He is a Fellow of The Explorers Club and an EU Climate Pact Ambassador.
